In Acts 1:8, we read the final words of Jesus before He ascended into Heaven. He promised us the Holy Spirit while commissioning the church to be witnesses from Jerusalem and all the way to the ends of the earth.
Acts 1:8 (NIV) ‘But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.’
Here at Bethel Chapel we believe that our Jerusalem is Verwood, that Judea is our larger region such as Dorset, then our nation of the UK and to the ends of the earth. We define that as global missions. We believe in Missions, and we carry a heart and passion for those serving across the 10/40 window where some of the most severe persecution of Christians takes place. It is also in this vast region where tremendous church growth is taking place. Our pastor has served with the local church in Iraq, China, Bhutan and India in the past, Therefore, we as a church look to continue supporting and standing with our brothers and sisters in Christ across this region, particularly the pastors and church leaders. We are delighted to work with Silk Road Missions, a global missions organisation supporting and working with the church across the Silk Route, from China to Israel.
Though the vision for Bethel Chapel is primarily supporting churches operating across the Silk Road from China to Israel, we also support missions organisations such as EAB who are serving in Brazil, and closer to home we also support the radio ministry of Hope FM based in Bournemouth, UK.
4Ukraine is a humanitarian project. Under the accountability and logistical direction of registered charity, Bethel Chapel. We are building a contingent of support with direct contact to those working in Ukraine and on the borders. The situation is changing daily as with any war-zone. At present, finance is able to reach our partners directly and while this is still open, we will continue to support. Desperately needed items such as water bottles, bread, medicine etc is cheaper to purchase in Poland than UK. Therefore on the short-term basis, our approach is to support directly those who are operating in Ukraine. This includes 1500 refugees a day arriving at warehouses converted into temporary shelters.
We are also looking at the long-term refugee crises and how we can support and accommodate families here in the UK.
Can you help? We ask that any donations or bank transfers be made into the account ‘below’. All funds are sent to the most needed in Ukraine.
